The Royall House & Slave Quarters

The Royall estate funded Harvard Law's first professorship; its crest was in the law school's seal until 2016. Belinda Sutton, enslaved by the Royalls, won a pension in 1783 — one of the first reparations cases. Please read her petition before the conference.
